For teachers wanting to participate in the M&M Data Survey or the Fruit Loop Data Survey, here are some handouts that you might find useful.

Format	Item	Description
	Introduction Letter – M&M’s	This letter can be sent home to parents to inform them about the M&M Data Survey Project.
	Data Collection Worksheet – M&M’s	This worksheet is geared for third grade students. The worksheet gives the students a step by step process to collect their data and have it ready to input into the survey here on the website. The worksheet also asks them to create a bar graph and a asks a few questions about the data including the mode and range.
	Data Collection Worksheet – Froot Loops	This worksheet is geared for third grade students. The worksheet gives the students a step by step process to collect their data and have it ready to input into the survey here on the website. The worksheet also asks them to create a bar graph and a asks a few questions about the data including the mode and range.
	Data Collection Spreadsheet	This Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet is set up to calculate the total number of M&Ms from the data collected. This spreadsheet has enough rows for 50 sets of data. There is also an embedded Pie Chart that will dynamically update as you or students input data.

	M&M Data 01-15-07	Excel Spreadsheet with the data as of January 15, 2007. This file includes an embedded, dynamic pie chart. We have had 117 responses and we have counted 10,378 M&M’s
	M&M Data 03-27-07	Excel Spreadsheet with the data as of March 27, 2007. This file includes an embedded, dynamic pie chart. We have had 150 responses and we have counted 12,443 M&M’s
	M&M Data 11-23-07	Excel Spreadsheet with the data as of November 23, 2007. This file was originally created in iWork and exported to Excel. Hope everything works!
